HOME AT LAST

2/12/2009

We can finally say that we are back in Kona for good. The final preparations are being made, and we move into our permanent location at 77-6413 Kepano Place in just a few days. We will do everything possible to ensure that the doors are open, and we are up and running again in our new home by the last week of February. The postcard announcing our Grand Opening here is at the printers now, so look for something in the mail from us by the end of the month. Please drop us an email if you want to make sure that you are on the mailing list. We look forward to meeting you, if you are on the Big Island, and to many exciting projects and challenges ahead. Time to get busy!

Aloha,
Ron

WE JUST ADDED AN EXCITING NEW PAPER TO OUR ROSTER

11/14/2008

After searching for the strongest candidate from a slew of new coated, fiber based papers, we've decided to feature Hahnemuhle's entry into the market, the new Photo Rag Baryta Paper. All of the new Baryta coated papers are targeted at a middleground between smooth glossy photo paper and a textured art paper. The Baryta coating is very smooth itself, but it doesn't obscure a fine organic paper texture beneath from the acid free, 100% rag base below. The satin finish shows off just enough texture to give interest, without adding distraction or compromising detail. Hahnemuhle's paper has a gorgeous surface and holds a lot of ink, for excellent print density. As icing on the cake, the paper is a substantial 315 grams per square inch, for a luxurious weight.

Germany's Hahnemuhle has been making fine papers since 1584, but is also one of today's most innovative papermakers. We're excited to offer this new media as an option and look forward to incorporating this into the steady rotation of unique papers we work with. There is no perfect paper for every image, so finding the ideal match is part of the satisfaction of the creative process. We get a lot of geeky joy from working with you on this matchmaking.

Aloha,
Ron

SOON, SOON, SOON

1/8/2009

After what has seemed like an eternity at times, my house and previous business in California are sold and I am beginning to load things for a permanent move to Kona. My wife and kids preceded me there by six months, as we failed to foresee how challenging it would be to sell a house in today's market. We now have a permanent Hawaii location, and expect to be open for business in Kona mid-February. We can hardly wait to get to work there.

Aloha,
Ron
